Scarborough Women's Centre empowers marginalized and at-risk women to become economically and emotionally independent through programs and services that promote positive change in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment. As a Workshops & Webinars Volunteer, you will work alongside facilitators to help deliver programming on topics such as financial literacy, effective communication, family law, and more — ensuring every participant feels supported and heard.

Primary Duties

  • Assist with event setup and registration for in-person workshops.

  • Support the delivery of smooth and successful workshop sessions.

  • Create a welcoming and safe environment for all participants.

  • Moderate virtual webinars on Webex, managing participant interactions and technical flow.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a warm, welcoming presence.

  • Comfort with virtual platforms, particularly Webex or similar tools.

  • A genuine commitment to women's empowerment and gender equity.

Volunteer Requirements

  • Completion of the mandatory 20-hour Direct Service Volunteer Training (suggested fee of $35; subsidies available). A TPS police check is not required but is optional. GBF & SWC will guide you on the application process.
