Overview
TCM is a Christian-based charity that builds loving relationships to bring hope to children and families impacted by poverty, helping them rise above poverty through preventative programs, relationships, and raising leaders.
TCM's Role Model Moms program equips mothers at least 18 years old who haven't completed high school with academic tutoring, confidence, and life skills to pass the high school equivalency exam and improve employment opportunities, offering free on-site childcare so moms can focus on their studies. This role leads and revitalizes the program in the Victoria Village community, ministering to mothers to achieve their equivalency, build life skills, and experience the hope of the Gospel through holistic support and mentoring.
Primary Duties
Recruit, train, oversee, and mentor childcare staff, interns, and volunteers, fostering their spiritual and professional growth
Oversee program operations, develop program plans with measurable outcomes, and establish the curriculum and long-range plans for the semester
Recruit participants, assess program readiness, and provide personal and spiritual mentoring to participants
Foster partnerships with local organizations and churches, facilitate connections with expert agencies for participant needs, and cultivate community leaders
Participate in staff meetings and training, submit monthly reports, contribute to TCM's blog/newsletter/social media, and help with program sustainability
Qualifications
A post-secondary degree or diploma and 2+ years of related experience in a similar leadership role
A strong personal spiritual life and commitment to Jesus Christ, with active participation in a local church body
Excellent leadership and organizational skills, strong initiative, and a proven ability to work collaboratively in relational ministry
Details
Full-time, 24 hours/week
May involve high-stress environments, some travel within the GTA, and hours outside the typical schedule
Salary plus benefits on a faith-support model: the successful applicant commits to raising 100% of their salary and gathering a personal support team
