Overview
A third party event is an opportunity to use your creative ideas to help raise support for TCM — as simple as gathering friends for a dinner and inviting them to donate, or holding a bake sale. TCM is a Christian non-profit that builds loving relationships to bring hope to children and families impacted by poverty across five high-priority Toronto communities, where one in four children lives in poverty. Every $300 raised helps send one child to a TCM program for a year, so an event hosted by your church, workplace, or network can make a real difference.
Primary Duties
Plan and run a third party fundraising event independently with your church, organization, workplace, or network — for example a dinner, bake sale, tournament, or run
Ensure the event reflects TCM's core values and mission
Promote the event and rally participants, donors, or sponsors from your community
Direct proceeds to TCM to support its programs for children and families impacted by poverty
Volunteer Requirements
Notify GBF 3–6 weeks before your event date; a GBF or TCM staff person will then advise on how to proceed
Obtain TCM's approval before promoting the event using the TCM name or logo
Optionally request a TCM staff speaker and use TCM's resources (posters, photos, logos) for your event
