Overview


Working with the Expanding the Reach: Outreach to Women with Disabilities Program Coordinator, this role supports marginalized women with disabilities in the community. The position helps deliver programming that advances economic and emotional independence and freedom from abuse. It is one of five funded Canada Summer Jobs positions for summer 2026.


Starts June 15, 2026; 8-week term; 35 hrs/week at $17.60/hr.


Primary Duties


  • Assist with promoting and delivering workshops and webinars supporting women with disabilities toward economic and emotional independence and freedom from abuse.

  • Develop promotional materials and social media content to reach and engage women with disabilities.

  • Participate in information events for women with disabilities to raise awareness of available services.

  • Review AODA tests submitted by staff and volunteers and issue certificates completing their AODA orientation.

  • Provide information and referral on community resources, linking women to resources for their needs.

  • Create a resource about services for women with disabilities.

  • Track service statistics and develop a tech-based tracking system for improved reporting.

  • Maintain accurate records per the Centre's policies and attend weekly staff meetings, supervision, and mentoring.


Eligibility Criteria


To be eligible, youth must:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period;

  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and

  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
