Overview
As Grant & Sponsorship Writer, you will be WeTogether's storyteller and advocate on paper. This role is essential for sustaining and growing programs that provide food, necessities, tutoring, and community support to low-income families, immigrants, and the homeless in the Jane & Finch area. Your writing will open doors to foundations, government bodies, and businesses whose support makes WeTogether's work possible.
Primary Duties
Research grant and sponsorship opportunities aligned with WeTogether's work, including community development, poverty reduction, youth programs, and re-entry support.
Draft grant applications, funding proposals, and supporting documents such as impact reports.
Collaborate with the team to gather program data, stories, and impact outcomes.
Build relationships with potential donors through emails and updates.
Maintain a calendar of application deadlines and report due dates.
Assist with thank-you letters and donor follow-ups when funding is received.
Qualifications
Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or professional writing of any kind.
Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to translate community impact into compelling, donor-facing narratives.
Ability to commit 5 to 10 hours per month, primarily virtually with occasional in-person meetings at WeTogether.
Minimum 6-month commitment.
